🕵️ Imposters hiding in plain sight 🎭 Furry Dronefly (Eristalis intricarius) - is a hoverfly that has evolved to look remarkably like a bumblebee—a clever form of mimicry that helps deter predators. 🎨 #Wildlife #NatureNotes #Hoverflies #Pollinators #NaturePhotography #GardenWildlife

• Females often have a pale white tail, resembling Buff-tailed or White-tailed Bumblebees.
• Males have a distinctive reddish-orange tail.
• Unlike bumblebees, Furry Droneflies have dark wing spots and black-and-pale-yellow striped legs.
