What was a policeman, if not a civilian with a uniform and a badge? But they tended to use the term these days as a way of describing people who were not policemen. It was a dangerous habit: once policemen stopped being civilians the only other thing they could be was soldiers.

a couple years ago I got one of those japanese toilet seats which is heated (good) but it has a motion detector and when you get close its dick slides out of a hidden door, and a light comes on, and it makes you watch it pee a little into the toilet, and then retracts the dick (bad)

So, I recently finished my Alan Wake 2 playthrough (it was great and frequently spooky enough that living alone in the woods felt like a bad idea) and am looking at my long, *long* list of games that have been waiting. I think that Kingdom Come: Deliverance is next, given it's getting a sequel.

One of the worst things about ghostwriting is that sometimes I'm assigned travel articles where I spend a ton of time researching places that my ghostwriting can't afford to pay for. But hey, when the time comes that I *can* afford it, I'll know what to eat and where to go, I guess.

ChatGPT already has “Ph.D.-level intelligence,” in that once you remove it from its extremely narrow field of expertise (assembling words into credible-sounding passages) it is wildly out of its depth, but people vastly overestimate its authority because they don’t understand what “intelligence” is.
