It sure would be nice if the Conservative Party at all levels could say unequivocally that racists and bigots don't have a home in their party but alas they keep playing footsies with the far right in the hopes of getting elected and it's frankly disgusting. www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/ar...

B.C. Conservatives slammed over talks with ‘far-right’ splinter party
A high-profile former B.C. Conservative caucus member has accused the party of “cozying up to the far right” in an effort to win this month’s provincial election.

What f'n ghouls these judges and the people that support this system are. They get off lucky being referred to as 'the judge'. Name and shame them. Make it uncomfortable for them to be complicit in a system that reports kids

My big thoughts on this is that the RCMP shouldn't be forcing us to spend money on this project until we get a stronger say on how policing in the community is done and that there is no reason this facility needs to be downtown and that we should consider places like Mission Flats.

Canadian patriotism and anti-Trump sentiment at an all time high, Canada's premier sporting event, you know there's only one choice for the halftime act: an Alabaman country singer who played Kid Rock's MAGA festival, has lyrics praising Robert E Lee, and promoted an anti-trans Bud Light boycott

I can understand why Milobar left the Conservative Party (he should have done it sooner). I can understand why he went back (crazy person no longer leading the party). It's the part in between when he becomes the leader of another party that he abandons them days later. That's a crazy Wikipedia page

An analogy for slow Americans who don’t truly grasp our negative attitude towards them: If the family of 5 living next door includes 2 people who eat babies, 2 who quietly watch them eat babies, and 1 who vocally opposes eating babies, they’re still gonna be known as the fucking “baby eating house”

Democrats keep trying to guilt-trip Canadians into backing down. Fuck off. Deal with your own mess. This is your problem to solve, not ours. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...
Gallego, the Arizona senator, said the two sides need to figure out how to mutually step down from the current trade tensions, adding that it appeared both Trump and Prime Minister Mark Carney were playing politics when trade talks fell apart last month.
"I'm not asking Mr. Carney to just bend at the knee and give in, but this is the role of diplomacy," Gallego said. "You figure out how to actually start bringing the heat down little by little to a point where you can get to the negotiation table."
Likewise, Maine's governor, Mills, said there need to be "serious negotiations on both sides," and she hopes a third party can sit down with the two countries and make it clear a tariff fight damages both of them.
"The retaliatory tariffs, I can understand why that's happening," Mills said. "I can't say it's not damaging our economy, though."

George Chuvalo has died. Born on this day in 1937, he was a five-time Canadian heavyweight champion and twice fought Muhammad Ali. In 93 fights, he was never knocked down. Ali called him the toughest man he ever fought. He had 73 wins, 64 by knockout. RIP Champ. 📸 Toronto Sun

No shit! Exports are a fraction of our GDP, exports to US are a fraction of that, the tariffs apply only to a fraction of that, and only end up 'blocking' a small fraction of THAT. Our provinces have unilaterally done more damage to the university sector than Trump is doing to the Canadian economy.

I know there is a lot of frustration with what's happening on the streets. I'm frustrated. But it's astounding that anyone would think that a prison is the type of infrastructure and programming where people would get the help they need. You are just warehousing people.

This is interesting. I don't think it's great that the ALR is being used as a NIMBY tool. If the land has environmental value it should be designated as such by the City. It has limited agricultural value.

Asked why the WNBA continues to experience these heightened distractions, Cloud said, "Men."
"The men now that are like 'Oh, we need to protect the WNBA,’ y'all were the same ones saying we shouldn't be paid," Cloud continued. "Y'all were the same ones saying we shouldn't have been invested in, saying we're a joke, the same ones that don't respect Black women. So, if you're going to protect women, that means all women. That includes Black women, trans women and the list goes on."
