Congratulations to all litigants in person who have had their end-stage Dunning Kruger effect exacerbated by ChatGPT‘s award winning confirmation bias. You rock. Just - please - remove the tell-tale metadata from the docs and - for the love of God - reformat the output from US Legal to A4. Tx. 🙄

It’s been quite an eye-opener to be told that academic freedom means you can study any old antisocial horseshit at other people’s expense, and neither the funder nor anyone else has the right to tell you to stop because it‘s antisocial horseshit

Adam is right, of course. And as anyone who has ever worked in a university will know, tough protocols for recruitment percolate down from uni to faculty to department, to institute, to chair. At every level they soften and frazzle. Often, by the time you are at the committee stage, anything goes.

I wish media outlets would describe Nathan Cofnas as a racist rather than a "self-defined race realist" which doesn't mean anything to most people. His writing meets any definition of racism however narrowly and cautiously drawn.

This 1-2 (from when the plagiarism story first broke) really struck/still strikes me. The schoolyard bullying that followed an unusual (though, re plagiarism, not unique) story was appalling. Criticism of his practice was clearly fair, but it tipped over into something else - particularly on X.

If you’re into observing slow-motion car crashes, do head over to X to see everyone who had a strong opinion on Arday turning on everyone else who had a strong opinion. None of them come away from this entire thing with their integrity intact.

I’m always baffled when utterly unqualified people give exceptionally confident but totally wrong legal advice. His GP must live in abject fear of him sitting in his waiting room long enough to strike up a conversation with anyone. 😬
LinkedIn screenshot of Laurence Gardiner writing: “The police and the UK prosecutors are looking for a way out. The Royal Family are looking for an off ramp; they thought that they had already purchased one. The judiciary hope that they never need to try this case.
Misconduct in public office is a civil offence and not a criminal offence. The legal test is the balance of probabilities and not without reasonable doubt. The penalty would be a slap on the wrist instead of a prison sentence.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor need only refuse to answer questions as he has always done and to deny wrong doing as he has always done and we will be home in time for hot tea and crumpets in the comfort of his grace and favour home. This is performative justice in place of reall investigative justice.
Investigative journalism is the only hope for children and teens victimised by the alleged offender. Journalists should keep digging!”
