I saw Dance was born in the 40s so I was thinking his dad would have been born in the late 1890s and in his late 40s when Charlie boy was born. He was born in 1876! Fought in the Boer war and was in his 70s when CD was born. One of Charles’s half sisters was born in the 19th century!

Two Big Firemen and 25 Years of Bullshit: Donald Trump Has Never Stopped Lying About 9/11
Friday he’ll be the only living president not at Ground Zero, and today he stood at the White House and told a story about firefighters carrying him to safety. None of it holds up. It never has.

Fianna Fáil tried to switch to anFPTP system twice in Ireland and were told where to go in referendums both times. That was back when they were comfortably the biggest party and would have been even more dominant in a FPTP system.

I could believe that the tax bill for the entire estate was £200k, I’d even believe that it was £200k per child, 3 of them and an estate of just under £2.5m doesn’t seem far fetched especially if he owned more than one house. But £200k just for the medal alone makes no sense.

The threshold for inheritance tax is £325,000 and anything above that is taxed at 40% so for the medal alone to be taxed at £200,000 would mean it’s worth £825,000 which is four times more than any other 1966 World Cup medal has been sold for.

Something definitely doesn’t add up there. The UK press was reporting on this last week, I think Charlton jr was discussing it on the radio. He said then that he inherited the medal in the will but gave it back to his mother to avoid the £200,000 inheritance tax bill.

In a week of incendiary statements, this from Kevin Lamour, who at least for tonight remains FIFA COO, is incredibly damning in that it is from an insider that goes beyond this one scheme and is an assassination in a few hundred words of the FIFA president as a leader of global football.

absolutely spot on re Nigel Farage’s speech - from Tom Peck
He was angry, mainly, at all the attention that has been given to the highly unusual sources of his now-considerable wealth. But don't worry, hes definitely earned it.
"Going back to the Nineties, I was in the commodity markets and I had a very, very good, high-earning career," he explained. "I gave that up at a huge cost. Being a member of the European parliament for 20 years cost me a huge amount of money." Being a member of the European parliament for 20 years earned Nigel Farage about two or three million euros. He also, as luck would have it, will be 63 next year and so eligible for a nice little £80,000 a year pension for his dedicated service to Brussels.
Since then, he has, he explained,
"had the equivalent of a lottery win".
This lottery win is the f5m that appeared in his bank one morning, shortly betore he became an MP, and which he didn't think it would be necessary to declare to anyone.
The standards commissioner is investigating this matter so we don't wish to pre-empt his findings, but if he does conclude it was the
"equivalent of a lottery win", then the matter will surely be declared over. Until now, it hadn't been known that millions of other people had bought tickets from the Thai-based crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne and one lucky man, called Nigel Farage, had been randomly chosen as the winner.

Nigel Farage’s 'Pro-Sleaze' By-Election Is A Sign Of Terminal Weakness
The Reform leader's desperate decision to call a back-me-or-sack-me by-election is a sign of a politician who knows he is finally being exposed for the man he really is, argues Adam Bienkov

And he also has to actually appear in public to do some canvassing in the constituency because he’s become a fairly unpopular due to basically ignoring them since the election. If he ends up winning a one horse race with without an absolutely whopper share of the vote or it’s humiliating.

This way he doesn’t get to grandstand on Newsnight under the pretence of having a debate. Unless he’s willing to debate jokers and even bigger crackpots than himself. Count Binface gets to take the piss whenever Farage appears somewhere in public.
