Finally got around to making the cheater apple best claws from NYT Cooking and they did not disappoint. My error was not starting early enough so couldn’t even try one until 9:30pm because I had to make dinner in the middle. whoops! 🍜🍽️

I periodically have to take a burger and make it a salad. This one’s a turkey burger. 🍽️🍜

I broke this story in 2011, about the first major publisher-imposed loan restrictions on ebooks (the only truly big story of my trade journalism career). It’s been 15 years, and the only major difference is that public library budgets are lower and what publishers charge libraries has gone up.

Why is the U.S. public so much more negative on AI than almost anyone else? Well, I think the fact that the U.S. AI industry is being lead by a bunch of very visible, crazy weirdos who talk about how AI will take everyone’s job and maybe kill us all the time is a pretty key factor.

Here's a neat thing! My mom retired after 25+ as a children's librarian at public libraries yesterday. (It was very cool! Hundreds of former Story Hour kids arrived, some as adults!) I let Ed Markey's office know in case they wanted to send a nice email back and they sent this! He's still got it!

One-pan pork tenderloin and panzanella salad. One pan, but also one bowl. 😂 a great late summer panzanella. 🍜🍽️

Panzanella salad: roasted zucchini chunks, tropea onion, bell pepper, croutons from a baguette, then cucumber chunks & halved cherry tomatoes were added. Topped with slices of pork tenderloin that was brushed with a mix of balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and whole grain mustard. The salad was tossed with a dressing made of balsamic vinegar, whole grain mustard, capers, caper brine, garlic, olive oil.
