Instead, Wynn-Williams sat on stage for the duration of the hour-long discussion between Cadwalladr and Wu, without speaking or responding. She was unable even to nod or shake her head.

Introducing the panel, Cadwalladr said: “I think this might be a Hay first, in which we have an author in a hostage situation. Blink once if you can hear us, Sarah, twice if [Mark] Zuckerberg is an asshole.”

One of the people killed by Soldier F was a man who stepped out to help another of his victims as he lay dying in the street. He waved a white handkerchief as he did so. Soldier F shot him in the head. His name was Barney McGuigan and today his family had to listen to a judge acquit his killer.

Extract from Financial Times profile of Peter Mandelson:

We are on our way north, on a high-speed Avanti train, when I ask Mandelson about his relationship with Epstein. “I regret ever meeting him or being introduced to him by his partner Ghislaine Maxwell,” he says. “I regret even more the hurt he caused to many young women.” An icy chill descends in Carriage J. “I’m not going to go into this. It’s an FT obsession and frankly you can all fuck off. OK?”
