Number of 25C days each year at #London Heathrow from 1949 we see 2026 with 82 days is far exceeding all historical precedent. The former record year 2018 now eclipsed by 20 days and we're not done either. Remarkable year.

Here are number of 30C days (1948-2026) most likely we have finished on 31 days a whole month's worth which is extraordinary. The 2nd highest 1976 with 20 days pales in comparison.

Summer in England was record smashing - 2026 was 0.75°C warmer for a seasonal average than the previous record set in... <checks notes>... 2025. The remaining seasonal records from 1976 were all broken by a significant margin this year. (These were the seasonal average Tmax for England and UK)

As well as the damage to artists, the tidal wave of AI is totally drowning out educational and good travel accounts. We are being buried alive by it. For me to do one post for @tuatha.ie I have to visit the site, edit the images, research info and write a post balanced to a general audience...
An AI post of Poulnabrone Dolmen, though this one is reasonably realistic and not as obvious, you can tell it's AI as Poulnabrone does not have a sea view, also the gentians dont flower there like in the image. A temperature above 37°C has only been recorded on nine days in the UK since records began – three of those occasions have now been in 2026, including today. Reading University has recorded its warmest August day on record (since 1908), and second warmest day overall.

Quaker families also operated businesses in meteorologically data sparce regions of Ireland including Mountmellick, Co. Laois, and Ballitore, Co. Kildare. Mountmellick had breweries, bakeries, and a famous embroidery industry. The papers of these industries may have weather data within them. 4/

I’ve recently begun a PhD, part of which is to discover missing historical meteorological observations recorded across Ireland. Meteorological tables contained within the short-lived Dublin Magazine of 1820 were recently found. The observations were taken by a J. Pim at 55 City Quay, Dublin 1/
