“The sight of all these literary heroines does wonders for the wardrobe. As someone whose idea of a good time still centres around a good novel and a free afternoon, I have always been interested in what characters wear. Some of my favourite writers use clothes to tell all about their protagonists.”

Are Literature Grads… Cool Now?
A host of classic novels are being adapted for screen this autumn – and according to (English graduate) Lauren Cochrane, the sight of all of these literary heroines will impact our wardrobes.

If a book gets compared to Big Little Lies, the Real Housewives, or both, there’s a pretty good chance I’ll read it. The Hunting Wives was my first read of May Cobb’s, and it didn’t disappoint! And now I can finally catch up on the Netflix adaptation I’ve heard so much about too!

It's great to see tailoring accommodate such extreme movement today. This level of tailoring was a bit more common in the past, as you can see in old films featuring Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly, but many modern suits will lift off the wearer's neck even when they're just walking.
