I have found the single reason that could unite most of Bluesky into agreeing Kamala Harris should actually run for president again in 2028 after all www.cnn.com/2026/09/14/p...

Top of mind for Newsom is whether he runs for president in 2028. One of the key parts of that is who else is running, including his fellow San Francisco Democrat, former Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I don’t know if she runs, but we’ll see,” Newsom told me. “I wouldn’t run if she ran.”

The thing is that sprouts basically create perfect growing conditions for bacteria. The center of a sprout has a small amount of standing water. There’s just always a risk.

Good dad phrase is “making a dent.” You can make a dent in a house project, a to-do list, a jumbo sized order of potato skins… anything really

It’s not an immediate problem but it definitely would become one long term.

Even if they worked perfectly, I sort of see them as way of losing 0.1% of my brain power every time I’d use them.

I think those are good if you think you will want to go right to a second activity, but maybe not necessary if you think you’ll go right home.

I cannot embark on a new activity without purchasing a helpful item!!

I really wished I had more shirts that were easy to put on without raising my arms at all—I thought I had enough soft button downs but I didn’t really. Otherwise just either books/entertainment/snacks—I was pretty fatigued and felt sort of vulnerable, but I was also home and bored.

I have a few but really I remember a guy in my dorm playing Casamir Pulaski Day on the guitar.

As someone who got the chickenpox vaccine, I really want to know this.

This winter, I’m going to cook a big summer themed dinner, with pesto and tomatoes and probably some sort of fruit-filled cake. The prep for it started this week.

A pot full of slowly cooking, multicolored tomatoes.

Old fashion (hard side part with obvious product in it) but not fully swooped.

Just saw a man walking down the street dressed like Tintin and I couldn’t tell if he was in costume or was just a guy who dresses like that.

I tried to take a biblical studies class to make up for it, and the first day, as part of the introductions, the instructor asked everyone what their favorite part of the bible was, and I realized I needed remedial studies (a friend took me to church a bunch of times).

I studied some parts of the bible in high school (we read the book of Job and talked about the pilgrims) but I got to Scotland to study literature and realized that I was a few years behind everyone else in religious studies.

No, Dems have a very narrow majority already (102 to 100, plus this one vacant seat). This will determine if the majority re-narrows to 102 to 101, as it was before the vacancy, or if Dems have a slightly larger majority.

Got a trivia question right today because @mostlymartha.bsky.social and @jaybeans.bsky.social keep posting so much about women’s baseball.

Listen. This is a truly excellent bar of chocolate.

Dolfin dark chocolate with pears and roasted almonds.

Babe? You okay? You haven’t even put on your The Body Keeps The Score press on nails.

An Instagram ad from neverhaveiever.shop, showing a set of press on nails designed like the Matisse art that is on the cover of the The Body Keeps The Score book (a stylized black figure on a blue background, surrounded by stars). There are thumbnails below that showing other art-inspired nails.

It’s also something that came out of research with no initial apparent usefulness—I think we really lose something when scientists can’t get funding to just check cool stuff out and see what happens.

(I am a firm believer that people should be able to do whatever they want with their own bodies, including using weight loss drugs for pure vanity. But I do NOT like the cultural trend we’re in.)

070

I read something where someone pointed out that tje GLP-1s can help with so much that at some point soon, we will probably start viewing the weight loss effects as a side effect that will have to be managed or negated, and that’s helped me when thinking about them as a medical technology.

It’s such a weird moment right now because the social stuff around GLP-1s/weight loss is a nightmare, AND some of what the drugs can do are really incredible.
