I spend a lot of time with people in the hard sciences these days and I get asked a lot about AI in writing etc., and what I’ve mostly been telling people is that often, the point of reading and writing is to find out that someone else has the same thing wrong with them that I do.

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.
