Missouri Republicans tacked on a gender affirming care ban to their abortion ban referendum to get voters to support the abortion ban. It's the same fight, the government overriding personal medical decisions to impose its ideological beliefs. missouriindependent.com/2026/03/17/m...

A new poll shows a ban on gender-affirming care for minors is the strongest selling point in a Missouri ballot measure to outlaw abortions.

When the "here's how Congress can fix the Supreme Court, including term limits for jsutices and adding seats" op-eds are coming from relatively normie Democrats like Sean Casten, something is changing in The Discourse thehill.com/opinion/judi...
And that’s OK! Because Congress — with the support of the executive — has the tools to fix all of this. It’s time to put them to work. Here are five proposals, ranked by impact and speed of implementation: Congress has the power of the purse. [truncated for space]
Congress has authority to limit the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court under Article III, Section 2, Clause 2 that says that the appellate jurisdiction of the court shall be subject to “such exceptions and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.” I have introduced legislation to effectively eliminate all political influence over appellate decisions by shifting responsibility to a panel of judges, randomly selected for each case from our senior circuit judges. The Supreme Court would then be limited to its stipulated “original jurisdiction” — matters relating to ambassadors and disputes where one of the states is a party.
Congress gave the court the ability to decide what cases it will hear (“grant cert”) via the Judiciary Act of 1925. One of the quickest ways to reduce the political influence of the existing court would be to take away their ability to decide which of the cases on which lower courts have already ruled could be considered for reversal.
Congress may be able to impose term limits on the justices. There is some debate on this point because the Constitution says that sitting justices serve “during good behavior” which many have taken to imply that — in the absence of a Constitutional amendment — justices will keep their job until death, retirement or impeachment.
Congress set the size of the court at nine justices in the Judiciary Act of 1869. Congress could expand the court again, although this only provides a check if the president responsible for nomination does not share the current justices’ ideological biases.
Congress has the power, and the responsibility to restore the integrity of the Supreme Court. Let’s use it.

Never forget that the primary tactic of this movement is distraction. They point to medical statements, procedural wins and tangentially related anecdotes because *they have no evidence of their core claim* If lots of kids were transitioning without assessment they would be talking about that.

Per NY Times’s Michael Grynbaum on X, this is Sharyn Alfonsi’s email to her “60 Minutes” colleagues in full:
News Team,
Thank you for the notes and texts. I apologize for not reaching out earlier.
I learned on Saturday that Bari Weiss spiked our story, INSIDE CECOT, which was supposed to air tonight. We (Ori and I) asked for a call to discuss her decision. She did not afford us that courtesy/opportunity.
Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now-after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.
We requested responses to questions and/or interviews with DHS, the White House, and the State Department. Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed
to kill the story.
If the administration's refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, wehave effectively handed them a "kill switch" for any reporting they find inconvenient.
If the standard for airing a story becomes
"the government must agree to be
interviewed," then the government effectively gains control over the 60 Minutes broadcast.
We go from an investigative powerhouse to a stenographer for the state.
These men risked their lives to speak with us.
We have a moral and professional obligation to the sources who entrusted us with their
stories. Abandoning them now is a betrayal of the most basic tenet of journalism: giving voice to the voiceless.
CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that "low point." By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones.We have been promoting this story on social media for days. Our viewers are expecting it.
When it fails to air without a credible
explanation, the public will correctly identify this as corporate censorship. We are trading 50 years of "Gold Standard" reputation for a single week of political quiet.
I care too much about this broadcast to watch
it be dismantled without a fight.

One reason the NYT has burned its credibility with trans people is that they still cite the discredited Cass report in reporting on trans healthcare. Never the German, Utah, or other systematic reviews supporting care. They also never provide the political context behind restrictions in care.
A screenshot of a news article header featuring circular portraits of three authors: Azeen Ghorayshi, Amy Harmon, and Reed Abelson. The dateline is Dec. 18, 2025. The opening paragraph reads: "The federal government on Thursday acted to put an end to gender-related care for minors across the nation, threatening to pull federal funding from any hospital that offered such treatment."A paragraph of text from a news article discussing medical interventions for minors. The text reads: "Questions over the evidence to support medical interventions for minors have been central to debate worldwide as demand for the treatments has increased. An influential report released in Britain last year found that the scientific evidence on the benefits and risks of the treatment was 'remarkably weak,' and concluded by recommending that puberty blockers be restricted to research trials only. Several European countries, and most recently New Zealand, have imposed restrictions."

In addition to this administration trying to kill kids, and they're also coming for our binders? OUR BINDERS.
"In a related move, the Food and Drug Administration issued warning letters to a dozen companies that market chest-binding vests and other equipment used by people with gender dysphoria. Manufacturers include GenderBender LLC of Carson, California and TomboyX of Seattle. The FDA letters state that chest binders can only be legally marketed for FDA-approved medical uses, such as recovery after mastectomy surgery."
