I will say again, as I said with Hunger Games when the books came out, the Scholomance series by Naomi Novik understands and dissects a moral evil at the center of our society in the same way that 1984 and Brave New World do. These books should be required reading, at the same level.

I dislike the "should not exist" crowd. It's not enough for them to hate something. They have to actively try to erase it from existence and deny it to those who DO like it. Unless something is being used to actively fund harm, just leave it alone and go spend time on stuff you love.

I know almost nothing about AP as a media movement. My first memory of Critical Role is hearing that it existed and asking a friend, "Isn't that just Nerd Poker?" I think they started in 2012ish as well. That said, Felicia Day is THE biggest media influence on my tabletop ways, and Wil through her.

I tried to use Google Assistant while driving today. I asked it to play Fear by the German band Rage, the sort of request it's handled seamlessly before. Then GEMINI gave me a little lecture before starting Turbo Lover by the band Judas Priest. I hate everything a little bit more now.
