14 years ago I watched all the 7 Up series in the build up to 56 Up. I was 18 and fascinated to see how people’s lives developed from their youthful expectations and what really brought them happiness, while I was still figuring out what mine was all about. #70Up has been a great finale.

In the past month I have done 6 lots of room painting. It has consumed 3/4 weekends. I fall asleep seeing brush strokes. In between, this week I packed up 22 boxes of books and blurays. I have one more small wall to do today but the desire to nap is so tempting…

My dad’s 30+ year old personal organiser has given up. Fortunately he managed to copy his passwords list out in time, though not addresses. He is hoping to get an exact replacement. His partner has gently told him she thinks that’s nuts. I’ve never been more confident we’re related.

Packing books and discovered 1980s postcards from a colleague of my dad’s - he worked in the company’s exports department. Settling into his Zimbabwe hotel, Basil Brush was on TV.

It’d warm and wet (the weather, fool!), raised at the un-godly hour of 05.45 this morning - now settling into Basil Brush on TV and a quiet evening. Postmarked 23 March 1985.

Work life and buying a house means I’ve been busier than ever this year. Today was my first in months that merely involved turning up at a time then got lead around Birmingham to sit around drinking and chatting with mates. No thinking, no proper plans. Nice diversion to the art gallery. Smashing.

Listened to true crime before bed so obviously dreamt about having to get rid of some bodies in bin liners. There was no blood or gore and I failed, realising ANPR ruled out all my disposal ideas, so turns out I’d be a terrible serial killer. Yay?
