This song is truly so beautiful (and Sam Reid's voice, wow). I've wondered if the "bitter star" lyrics are a reference to Romeo and Juliet, not just "star-crossed lovers" but Romeo saying this (and Lestat meaning that he wants Louis' love no matter what terrible things that love might bring them):

She's such a great actress--my favorite part of Widow's Bay, which is saying something. I want to see her on stage someday. I was talking with a friend about how seeing her and Sam Reid (IWTV/TVL) act together would be something. The most insane/fearless actors.

Just to offer a different take, I thought season 3 was great, and it's both funnier and even darker/sadder in some ways than the first two. Lestat is putting up a front, especially in episode 1, but the facade falls as we get inside his head more. I'd just watch it and see what you think.

I was so glad you wrote about IWTV and TVL this year. That show is one of the most astonishing (and daring) things on TV, imo. I still think about Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson in that breakdown scene in 3.06.

Love this review! It was great to read. The season was fantastic, it was such a bold swing from the first two but it had the same depth and daring, and Sam Reid is just the most insane actor. I hope he gets awards recognition for it, though I know that can't be the goal.

"So good we're worried about him" feels like the highest praise an actor can achieve lol. But also yes, I know what you mean, because that breakdown... I don't know, there's a kind of rawness or realness he can achieve that is VERY rare in actors and kind of scary to watch, in a great way.
