Loved, loved, loved the themes and character work of Lanterns, even if I’m not entirely sure I could describe the plot if you asked me to.

Admittedly, I do like Digger a little more if I imagine it's making fun of One Battle After Another winning Best Picture.

Digger and Primetime are both movies where I’m like “aren’t you actively doing the thing you’re righteously critiquing other people for doing??” And with a release schedule specifically aimed at winning awards for doing it? Does that not undercut the point?

Women are pragmatic, emotionally rational protectors and we’ve built our entire society around saying that’s not true and men are. Just complete social gaslighting.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

The thing about Primetime is that it critiques Chris Hansen for turning evil men into sordid entertainment to chase ratings... all while turning Chris Hansen into sordid entertainment to try to win an Oscar. And I just couldn't shake the irony of that. Here's my review for Decoding Everything.

I’m not sure it’s meant to be (although maybe it is), but the part in Heated Rivalry where Shane keeps trying to guess what’s wrong with Ilya’s dad instead of just letting him finish his sentence is so funny to me. A socially awkward king.

It used to be that shows saved their fireworks for their penultimate episodes. But the way TV is made and watched today necessitates some earlier flash.
