One great thing about the fact that so many people are expecting the midterms to be a disaster for the GOP is that if Trump does order up crimes to tilt the election his way, some people who would have been happy to do that a year ago are more likely to worry there might be consequences for them.

And the evidence that we have so far indicates that it would be pretty much unwatchable. AI video is competent at the one-to-five-second level, as long as you don't need any actual acting, but beyond that, every example of it I've seen has been janky, incoherent, and deadly boring.

Biden's victory in the 2020 primaries was a repudiation of the wing of the party that was calling for the next president to Trump-proof American democracy, and Harris's 2024 campaign didn't center a pro-democracy agenda in any serious way. It's taken us a decade to get to the starting line.

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.
Not only is this system astonishingly untested, USPS has simultaneously implemented an
impracticable zero percent failure rate.
13 When ballots are submitted to USPS in large-volume
batches, if any one ballot in the batch cannot be verified against the Portal, all ballots in that
batch will be rejected. For example, if a state election official brings a batch of 10,000 ballots to
USPS and USPS is unable to match just one of those ballots against the Portal – because, for
example, someone has recently changed their name after marriage or they’ve moved – then
USPS would refuse to mail the remaining 9,999 ballots as well. As the whistleblower notes,
