Today’s pick is a busy, thriving place in Libertyville called Tala Coffee Roasters. It’s a rainy Sunday and everyone in town appears to have come here this morning. While there is plenty of seating and outlets, getting here early or during less popular times will guarantee you the spot you need to hang out for a while. They have good seasonal drink selections, as well as the usual, baked goods, and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch.

This month's coffee shop is called Finch Coffee in Franklin Park. It's a nice community-feeling space with lots of tables and chairs, couches, outlets. There's an outdoor patio, food as well as drinks, and parking wasn't too difficult for being near the city. Finch coffee was loud, but that means it's a popular place to spend time. I have extra exciting news this month!

A plague of eyes descends upon a fascist-occupied city. After a woman gets an illegal abortion, her period-tracking app threatens to turn her in. A government agent becomes dangerously obsessed with t...

The weather was "smoke from Canadian wildfires," hot and muggy and unbreathable. So I kept to the indoor spots and wore a mask outside because it gives me a headache to breathe it in too much. Smoke in Illinois I traveled to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin for adventures in coffee and bookshops, and I made my first stop The Langholf, a delightful coffeeshop with a chill vibe, known for its seasonal coffee flights that I absolutely had to try.

Nothing has made me angrier today than being in the city with air quality ranked ‘worst in the world’, while people insist on using AI to save themselves the burden of independent thought. AI is dest...

I've been here a few times now, and today I've come at peak hours on a lovely June day to finally write out my post before the end of the month. I've ordered a mango vanilla iced latte to enjoy while I take the rest of the day to relax. There are outlets around, but they are not plentiful or easy to find when it's busy.

May 2nd, and I decided to start a May writing challenge with the full moon in Scorpio. While I had to work the first, I had the perfect weekend off to do some morning writing at a coffee shop called Coco and Maple. To start, their parking situation isn't too bad. There's a parking lot around the corner with plenty of space, and they have a few spots closer reserved for patrons.

If I haven't shared yet, I have a penname now, Christine Cunningham. So this is my attempt to come back to this space and talk about coffee shops and writing. Let's be real, I've been avoiding Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts for over a year now, and have finally settled into my career (xray/mri tech) after a bout of covid lockdowns, and nonsensical real world events (which just keep on going).
