Media bias shows up in lots of ways, some less obvious. For example, every outlet that reports on the RBA interest rate hike without pointing out that its leaders get exorbitant salaries and taxpayer-funded half-price mortgages while they say that more people need to be unemployed.

Genuinely disgusted by the way my partner (who was KICKED by an exhibitor) and my friend (who was also physically assaulted and LITERALLY BIT by the same exhibitor) were treated by staff.
My partner was questioning an exhibitor about his products and his artistic process, as it was clearly AI but was clearly lying (illegal under consumer law btw!). Instead of having a normal adult conversation, he escalated into aggression and started screaming at my partner. Suddenly he ran out of his booth and assaulted and bit my friend, who was filming him. My partner tried to pull him off my friend, and she fell to the ground and he kicked her while she was on the ground. She pushed him away and he started yelling about how my partner and friend "started it".
Security got involved, and then the owner came and talked to my partner and friend who BLAMED THEM for "harassing him", even despite other vendors sticking up for them and saying they did nothing wrong.
I went to the front desk after pack down to find out where to file a formal complaint and the guy I talked to spoke to me with such utter disrespect and contempt straight off the bat. It genuinely shocked me how I was treated like an incessant little child as a 31 year old, when I was simply trying to find a resolution to this situation that was genuinely fucking disturbing and should not be tolerated by OzComicCon.
Never in my 13 years of attending conventions have I experienced anything like this.

I also saw a statement from one of the victim's partners that said the owners and staff were incredibly rude and dismissive to them, apparently more concerned about the disruption to the day than the crazed biter or their slop stall. Terrible but unsurprising from large event managers these days tbh

Every so often I catch a whiff of tracing/reference discourse on the wind, so here's your reaffirmation that tracing is good and useful, actually. The "trace" was about ~1 min of mapping the landmark shapes (nose, ears, fluff, tail), and the actual was ~5 min of reassembling what I'd learned.

Three images: the first, the pixel sprite of the dog Dozy, from Fields of Mistria. He has round, friendly features. The second sketch is a quick trace of the first, with stiff and hesitant lines. The third is a completely different pose, but you still see the landmark features of his big oval nose, fluffy chest, floppy ears, and shaggy tail.
