We call it - Bishop. Well it actually ate the bishop alive in that fort. Anyway a band of paladins later came and defeated it, tried to bury it, but it rose from the dead screaming accusations at them for using the wrong sermon. Killed them and then proceeded to bury with all ceremony. #Nerdlings

Trying to fight my imposter syndrome and anxiety. (* >ω<) And signed up for a miniature and diorama exhibit that is happening this weekeend. There are no stakes its just an exhibition, and yet my brain went into anxiety mode. But now they are there. I get to relax and chat with other hobby fans ^_^

Today I ran my first My Little Pony rpg. My lil one wanted to try an rpg but she is not yet interested in dungeons and loot. The game is very light on rules. And she got the hang of it in 10mins. So we turned the writing table into a Crystal Horseshoe hotel. With a 24/7 open buffet for guests.

A pretty nice simple system, very good for starting with young kids.

Her character Leja the unicorn.
Nice touch in charecter sheets is that there is already an outline of the pony and kids can just draw in waht they want.

Here you can see the lounge are on the right witht the buffet and the guest rooms denoted by beds :)
The top floor bathroom was occupied until a smart pony figured out that a new paper roll was needed for the fairy to leave it.

The 24/7 open buffet for all the hotel guests. Constantly being refilled by the dutiful staff and main hotel chef - Kitchen Horse.

Weirdly enough today also ran into 2 more boxes with glass eyes.

Three glass eyes that beloged to a person that lost an eye in childhood. They needed to change them during their lifetime.

After looking at my competition entry, i decided it give it another pass and fix things that annoyed me. Did an over all tone darkening, with shades and some glazing. Also put it on a proper base. And add a missing targe on his wrist. Now I think its done (^-^)

So, this is titled “Bits Box Blanche”. It’s an attempt to replicate one of my favourite John Blanche images, from the cover of what I still consider MY edition of Warhammer 40K, but with the stated caveat that every single part had to come out of my bits box. And what surprised was how easy that was: it seems like John Blanche’s style is practically hardwired into the DNA of these little plastic folk even now. There’s a bit of Milliput to hold it all together, and for the base, but the rest of it was just all there.

I’ve included the original image, and a couple of shots that I took of this model as it came together. Finally, almost at the last minute, I remembered that he’s fundamentally a second edition Space Marine - arguably, THE second edition Space Marine - so of course, his base had to be green.

Fully painted Caucasian ogre on a small hill looking down on a desertscape or dried riverbed. He’s looking menacing, with a club resting on one shoulder, armor on his other shoulder and waist, a copper bracer, loincloth, and leather leg wraps. The landscape is adorned with details like grass, tufts, flowers, dead leaves, vines, other foliage, and a human skull.

He’s painted using a Zorn limited palette, inspired by John Blanche. The paints used were all Golden heavy body acrylics and the colors were titanium white, yellow ochre, cadmium red light, and bone black.

Because there is no blue in this palette, artworks using it tend to have rich skin tones, browns, reds, oranges, and white and black tones, along with desaturated greens from a mix of yellow ochre and black.

An Orc in the service of Mordor. The orc is crouched down and preparing to thrust a glaive overhand. The figure is from Ral Partha (1978), sculpted by the great Tom Meier. Painted using a limited color palette (primarily light sandy brown, burnt orange, brick red, and burnt sienna). The original spear was replaced with a glaive made from brass rod and milliput. Keeping with the John Blanche theme, the orc is finished with a gloss varnish and there are mushrooms on the base.

For the last 3 days i had consistently worked on minis, and seems to be a posibility in the near future... sooo maybe I can do a hobbystreak again (*^^*) Anyway assembled and primed all moo men models I had. And even started some test paints on some.
