Die SPD täte gut daran kritisch zu hinterfragen, wie sie selbst zum Aufstieg der AfD beigetragen hat („in großem Stile abschieben“). Nachdem man Fehler eingeräumt hat und es ein klares Bekenntnis zu einer anderen Politik gibt, kann man dann auch glaubwürdig Symbolaktionen machen.

It’s simply not true that “no one has a good answer on what to do with rapists.” In fact, there is a depth of feminist scholarship on exactly this subject. It’s just that people won’t engage with it seriously since none of it says “nah you gotta be nice to the rapist cause that’s your buddy.”

Ob die AfD an die Macht kommt, dürfte somit entscheidend vom BSW abhängen. Es ist die einzige Partei, die sich offen für eine Unterstützung der AfD gezeigt hat. BSW-Spitzenkandidat Thomas Schulze betonte, er stehe bereit für Gespräche mit der AfD. "Wir haben gesagt, wir sprechen mit allen Parteien. Dazu gehört die AfD."Es gebe viele Gemeinsamkeiten. "Wir haben schon einige Schnittmengen, vor allen Dingen auch in der Russlandfrage, wo wir sagen, wir sind gegen diese Sanktionen, die unsere Wirtschaft förmlich ruinieren." Wie die AfD wolle das BSW auch "preiswerte Energie" - auch wenn der Einfluss einer Landesregierung darauf eher begrenzt ist. Differenzen gebe es dagegen bei den Themen Bildung und Wirtschaft. Ob das BSW AfD-Mann Siegmund auch zum Ministerpräsidenten wählen würde, ist unklar.
