How do gut bacteria cope with both proteolytic stress and phage attack? 🧵👇 Our latest preprint is live! Ulcerative colitis (UC) creates a distinct gut environment: protease activity rises, the virome shifts, and phages expand. #Microbiome #Bacteriophages #IBD www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

[Fresh Preprint] Some pathogens swim to infect, but what about the gut microbiota? Spoiler alert: they swim, particularly in inflamed states 🔥 And they refuse to swim like typical gut bacteria models (sorry, E. coli's run-tumble!). Proud of Maria's work, within SFB1382. doi.org/10.64898/202...

bioRxiv/medRxiv have been dealing with endless bot attacks recently (plus usual DDOS stuff, etc). Tricky to address without impacting genuine users - many of you affected. Apologies. We're working with our hosting service on solutions & think we're getting there [he shouts in his Red Queen costume].
