looks like the Call Me By Your Name sequel is embracing a bold new strategy

As someone who really hated The Final Reckoning and am frustrated by it the longer I sit with it, this was such a cathartic experience. A damn good conversation with the boys. Give it a listen!

It really is a testament to the good people on Twitter and the culture created that despite every conceivable mishap and mass exodus it still manages to stay afloat maintaining a certain level of what made it special in the first place. Culture still exists & thrives there and we need that.

Like, I consider myself very politically savvy and engaged...and Bluesky is just an overload of politics. Very one track minded. An almost 24 hr news forum. That's fine, I appreciate it for that, but I'm really missing the conversations surrounding culture that made the other place feel communal.

Anyone else find it hard to post on here sometimes? Maybe my feed isn't curated well enough but I struggle to find the line of conversations and contribute. If I post it's mostly just a thought out into the void which is fine, but it's weird how a lack of regular mutuals can really dry up the place.

This is quite possibly the WORST thing to happen to this franchise. I honestly can't believe I'm reading this. #JamesBond was more than your average franchise. It had class, prestige, they were indie films made as blockbusters...now? It'll be milked dry. It's truly the end 💔

Really loved The Incredible Hulk sequel #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld! Oh wait... A film that severely lacks focus & has about as much political insight as a Government 101 class. Sam's story of being the Cap people can aspire to is lost in the mix & only paid lip service. Big TV movie energy.

Had an absolute BLAST talking with Sophie Thatcher & Jack Quaid for @theplaylist.bsky.social. This was by far one of the most fun conversations I've had to date. Both were so lively & thoughtful as we got into Bots, The Boys, Billy Joel, and MORE! #CompanionMovie 🤖❤️

Yep. Between this and the assclown showrunning Daredevil...Marvel's really letting these nerds out themselves, and idk what's more concerning, the fact that they think it's okay to say stuff like this or that Marvel's stopped caring...

For as much as TikTok and Trump are to blame, equal responsibility falls on Biden/Dems. It never should've gotten to this point. The con was as clear as day. They lost the election for appearing out of touch & this only further cements that idea in the minds of voters. Embarrassing.

Incredible what happens when you have entire generations addicted to digital heroin, threaten to take it away, bank on how out of touch the next guy will be only for you to appear as a savior at the eleventh hour to curb the withdrawal. This time at a cost. A textbook con. A country full of suckers.

I understand survivor's guilt is uncomfortable, but please don't offer absurd platitudes like "you can replace things, not people" to someone who has just lost everything. Here's what was most helpful when my family went through this a decade ago:

Having cleaned up the ashes of a loved one's life before, I need to tell you that "you can replace things, you can't replace people" is not the meaningful sentiment that you think it is.

They are aware that they are lucky to have made it out alive. The statement is trite, often shared out of personal discomfort, and it is not. helpful. They've just lost everything, insurance companies are ghouls, and they have no anchor to their lives at the moment this platitude is being shared.

What is helpful:
- Offering to be the point person for donations and outreach. It is overwhelming to get 7000 "what do you needs"
- Find out what basic, immediate needs can be fulfilled, and help fulfill them. Do they have shelter? Water? Food? Everyone's circumstance is different.
- Do NOT overwhelm them with non-necessity physical objects until they have a new home base. It's understandable to want to immediately offer something of sentimental value, but there is nowhere for it to be stored. Cash and giftcards unless explicitly asked for.

So, you're not getting lower prices on anything. He's buying Canada and Greenland, invading Mexico and Panama, and pretending to change the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, while putting tariffs on everything that YOU will pay for. Got it, he’s insane.

Genuinely impressed by how perfectly Whannell captured the melancholy of the original but funneled through his own anxieties about parenthood & generational "curses." Like Invisible Man, he modernizes the setting and aesthetic while maintaining the timelessness of these horror icons. #WolfManMovie

Leigh Whannell continues to be the master of space & sound with #WolfManMovie. A damn good reimagining that plays like The Shining by way of The Fly. A claustrophobic parental panic attack with nasty body horror & a surprising amount of heart. If you enjoyed The Invisible Man, you'll dig this!
