I like that in becoming a nazi, you get glowing coverage as a brave iconoclast, and then when you stop being a nazi, you’re get glowing coverage as a brave dissident. Money coming and going. Only way you lose is having normal opinions like “racism bad” bsky.app/profile/trac...

One of the weirdest things about sycophancy in the Trump era is that you have to pretend to be much stupider than you are.

Lately I find myself just feeling angry that GenAI exists. I guess it was inevitable, but it feels like it's going to do a lot of damage. No way to put the toothpaste back in the tube. I'm surprised by how much this bothers me.

You really can't identify a set of rational interests that are controlling present-day politics - or even consistent, irrational interests. Just spasms, driven by the need to clamber to the top of the attentional food chain, inside your bubble of choice. The oligarchs themselves are not exempt.

Meet Crumb, Button, and Clover. A friend in the Bay Area found them behind a gas station. Unfortunately, she isn't able to keep them, so if she can't find someone to adopt them, they will be going to a shelter. Can you help me find them a home? They are in good health and very tame.

I live in Minnesota and I want the federal government to stop trying to kill us. And hurt us. I want them to stop attacking us. It sucks. We’re just trying to live our lives and take care of each other and we don’t deserve all this. I kid around sometimes here but I’m not kidding now.

I’m listening to “Imperial Bedroom” for the first time in forever. Just impeccably recorded. It’s a strong argument that Geoff Emerick, more than anyone, was the mythical “fifth Beatle.”

What makes these protests so unique is they aren’t a response to something that either already happened or is happening somewhere else. The things people are in the streets protesting in Minneapolis are happening right now, right in front of them, repeatedly.

It's SO disheartening to see an ICE officer who murdered a woman have their GoFundMe raise $650k+ in days while I am fighting for my life. What does that say about this country and its priorities? Sorry. I'm tired & not feeling well tonight. I'd be so grateful if you could SHARE this. ❤️ #FuckICE

it is fairly amazing how clear it was, at the time, what was happening. so much chaff has been thrown into the air since then, of course, that most coverage takes a "whomst amongst us can say what happened that day?" approach (stole this image from @joshsternberg.com's post)

Again, it's very weird how everyone--Democrats, Republicans, media, everyone--just pretends Republicans can't just eliminate the filibuster and past the CR today.
Ted Cruz: Gavin is deliberately lying.

To fund the government takes 60 votes in the Senate. There are only 53 Republicans. We need at least 7 Dems.

We keep voting to open the government. Dems keep voting to shut it down.

@GavinNewsom
 knows that. And he’s lying to you.
