You know what's still a solid album I listened to on repeat as a teenager? Even when it was old then, Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell. Him and Jim Steinman together made a good album. People don't hold up to hsitory but the music can.

I did a bystander intervention to ought and my skills are rusty so I'm not fully satisfied with how I handled it. I used to enjoy walking around, but after the pandemic I've stopped going out as much. I hope it resolves better now that they're apart but just a difficult situation all around.

I'm glad people are talking about the Cornell 7/57, LSU and other cases that are happening about sexual violence on campus, but I really hope people understand that these aren't rare occurrences. How these are handled (badly) is normal for survivors. I'm glad ppl are talking but it happens often.

This is one of the reasons they try to silence you when you speak up. They know it's wrong and they don't want people to know they are "that guy". Speak up, make noise, make them stop, or at least embarass them for the poor behaviours they do.

A reminder again that abusers enjoy revictimizing survivors. They can be particularly nasty about it. The whole "it's about ethics in video games journlaism" type defence where they make up an excuse but are really just enjoying abusing people is very prevalent. Abusers enjoy abusing people.

We do see that awful people will tear someone down as they're also treating them poorly, to justify why they're being an asshole to them, but it's just a complete fabrication and they're just being an asshole to them right? It's something that's fairly common.

One of the common threads between the Hockey Canada 5 trial and the Cornell university situation is how the male group text/male call outs is perceived diff. by men and women. Women will likely see non-consent/gang rape call out and men see "he said it was consecual". Men listen to men not women.

People target survivors, that's why there are laws to protect the identities of survivors. There are different reasons but all awful ones for my people go after survivors. It's not just in a court case, abusers will re-victimize survivors too. Abusers think people deserve to be hurt, it's dangerous

It just seems to me that there are quite a few people that instead of actually doing that work "how can I improve", they pick someone else to displace whatever is happening to them so tbey have a target. They displace their issues, so they both don't have to deal with it internally and "solve" it.

I had someone tell me after explaining the latest issue say that I don't seem to have very good luck with people. Quite frankly I don't, but it's not from lack of trying. Even if I don't think somwthing is fair or good, I still try to take lessons and improve in spite of how awful others are.
