#NowPlaying This Heathen Land - Green Lung (Nuclear Blast, 2023) one of my favourite metal bands, love the music and the imagery of what they do. Particularly like the artwork to this in the style of the 'Marber' covers for Penguin books (example shown in pic 2) #greenlung #metal #rockmusic

Properly presented physical albums hugely boost the experience. @greenlungband.bsky.social and @slipperyjack.bsky.social have proved this (again) with "Necropolitan". DAMN that's a good looking record, with a massive, proper sleeve notes booklet too. A work of art in every sense. #GreenLung

Blimey, turns out I'm 'legendary' according to Metal Hammer in their 9/10 review of @greenlungband.bsky.social's Necropolitan. I'm going to be making a legendary beef chilli for dinner, that must be what they mean 🖤...

THERE HAVE BEEN few more satisfying phenomena than the rise of Green Lung. Forged in the choking fog of sinister south London streets, they've defied every passing trend and become the UK's leading exponents of proudly traditional heavy metal, with all the occult trimmings. Everything, from the all-encompassing bombast of their meticulously crafted songs, to the symbiotic relationship they have with the artwork of legendary illustrator Richard Wells, chimes so brilliantly with a very real contemporary need for authenticity that the band's success has been inevitable. For those looking for the festival headliners of the future, Green Lung have already staked a formidable claim. On their fourth album, they make their case with such exuberance and bravado that it takes the breath away.
