The corporate shit fest Cashtonbury sold out in 40 mins with tickets at over £400, way out of reach of many music fans especially if you consider the costs of food & drinks for 3-4 days plus travel. All that & you don't even know who you're paying to watch FFS. Get in the effin bin 🗑️ #glastonbury

A bit more about what we are up to. The new cd should hopefully appear in Spring 2027. We’re excited about it because our friend @noiseresearch.bsky.social has contributed his excellent bass playing and some great production. We’re also working on getting some live gigs next spring.

#NowPlaying Opal - Embryo (Ohr, 1970) CD reissue on Materiali Sonari from 1997. This was their first album and firmly in the Krautrock camp which was to morph into a more ahem, 'world music' style by the end of the decade. This is definitely their best period (in my opinion) #krautrock #embryo

#Nowplaying Live - Birth Control (Columbia, 1974) originally a double LP this is the 1998 German import CD. Another great German progressive rock band with lots of Hammond organ vibes going on. 1st heard them when they supported Blue Oyster Cult in 75. I liked them more than BOC! #progressive #rock

Just realised it's 4 years today since I had my total hip replacement. It changed my life as I'd got to the point where I was in constant pain & even struggled with the 5 minute walk to the village centre. I went down to theatre at 9.15 & was back on the ward at 12 with tea & toast! Amazing ❤️🩺💉

Geophysicist & space physicist Marcia Neugebauer made the first direct solar wind measurements via instruments on the Mariner 2 spacecraft. She developed instruments used on Earth-orbiting satellites, Apollo lunar experiments & the Giotto mission to Halley’s Comet. Born #OTD in 1932. #WomenInSTEM

A black-and-white historical photograph of pioneering geophysicist and space physicist Marcia Neugebauer (born September 27, 1932) working at her desk during the mid-20th century. Sitting in an office setting, she leans forward slightly over her desk, looking directly at the camera with a calm, intelligent, and focused expression. She has short, bobbed light hair and wears a short-sleeved, collared white button-up blouse adorned with subtle vertical embroidered details down the front. In her right hand, she holds a pencil over large documents and charts with plotted scientific data curves spread out on the desk before her. To her right sits a large, vintage mechanical calculating machine with columns of buttons, characteristic of the 1960s computing era. The background features window blinds and office storage, creating an environment of rigorous research. The image captures the historical significance of a trailblazing woman in STEM whose work with these charts and calculations would confirm the existence of the solar wind via the Mariner 2 spacecraft.

Very rarely buy a magazine these days (mainly due to the cost) but this month's Fortean Times has an interview with one of my favourite metal bands Green Lung plus an article on Richmal Crompton who wrote the hilariously anarchic 'Just William' stories. The temptation was just too much #forteantimes
