This is a wild take. I cycle a lot, all seasons and in traffic, and there are still barriers to some trips that I would otherwise make. most people just have a lower risk tolerance than I do.

Ours was built in ‘54, and other than a cosmetic refresh, not much has been done to maintain it before we got it. We know we’re going to be the last people to live in this building, and still our neighbours asked our interest in an anti-infill covenant. 🙄

Riding at the speed limit (~40kmh, then 30) on a neighbourhood street, with parked vehicles and oncoming traffic. But of course the SUV driver needs to speed and unnecessarily pass dangerously. Neighbourhood streets should be the safest to ride on, yet this garbage happens frequently. #yegbike #yeg
