#NZpol “The report said every dollar invested returned $1.93 to the economy and $1.15 to the Crown.” I can’t help but think both that this needs a wider health context, and that you’d think similar benefits would be had for investing more widely in health, i.e. not just on medicines.

That's utter bollocks. GPs are on the front lines and see the effects EVERY DAY of under-funding of our health system and want Nat OUT. Both hospitals and GPs desperately need more money. BUT, funding GPs reduces overall health spending: prevention is cheaper than ill-care.

100%. Access to early screening, GP appts & support, where people live now, makes far more difference long term to outcomes than a fancy one-off private hospital in a singular location. ACTs foolishness is what happens when wealthy ppl seek control instead of listening to experts.
