if I do not use quotation marks, Google Message (whatever they pretend is sms) now filters for map links when I search word address. It removes the word "address" from the search bar, puts a "places" icon there, and only presents map links. I am functionally illiterate to how to use this product.

The Connecticut Sun's final game is tonight. Connecticut and its fans bought into the WNBA at its low point, turning a profit when the NBA's owners saw the league as a moneypit, only to lose their team now that everyone sees big bucks in women's sports. Some thoughts on the setting of the Sun:

Surprisingly, moving the team to Connecticut worked. In 2010, the Sun became the first WNBA team to turn a profit — during a global recession, and during the league’s nadir of popularity. The casino in the middle of nowhere became a fortress. The Sun has won 64.5 percent of its home games. It developed a real fanbase and made four WNBA Finals.

The Connecticut Sun is not the first WNBA team to die. (Enjoy this haunting image of the mascots for the Sacramento Monarchs, Utah Starzz, Detroit Shock, and yes, the Houston Comets, hanging out, smiling, not realizing that death will soon come for them.)

But it’s the first WNBA team to die for this reason: Not because nobody cared, not because it couldn’t make money, not because it couldn’t find fans or win games, not because the league is shrinking … but actually because the league is growing. The Sun helped the WNBA survive, but the period of mere survival is over. The league is moving on to bigger markets and bigger money and leaving Connecticut behind.

As a result of this unlawful search, suspect spent two years in pre-trial detention before the case was dismissed. Prosecutors didn't even disclose the use of the cell-site simulator for the first year of pre-trial detention. But he can't recover because how could the police know about warrants?

Andrews’s criminal case marked the first time a Maryland appellate court addressed whether the use of a cell-site simulator constitutes a search within the meaning of the Fourth Amendment. While legislative action and policy changes have helped clarify law enforcements’ obligations in using this technology, these changes occurred after the events at issue in this case. We therefore agree with the district court that Detectives Haley and Spinnato are entitled to qualified immunity, and we affirm summary judgment on Andrews’s claims against the Detectives arising under the federal Constitution.

The only plausible way to reconcile the government’s view with the historical record is to read early laws restricting cross-border firearms sales at an extremely high level of generality, without regard to the significant differences between state borders and national borders, and also without recognizing that the historical record is devoid of laws meaningfully restricting the trade of firearms between states in the time soon after the United States became established as a single, cohesive entity. That was precisely the Second Circuit’s misdirection in rejecting a challenge to the Ban functionally identical to the one presented here. See United States v. Vereen, 152 F.4th 89, 100 (2d Cir. 2025), cert. denied, 146 S. Ct. 1519 (2026) (determining that the historical record was adequate to justify the Ban because “colonial and founding-era state laws regulating the movement of firearms and gunpowder between colonies and across borders … satisfy the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ inquiries under Bruen”). We reject the Second Circuit’s approach. That distinguished court’s questionable analysis stretches the historical record far beyond what it can actually bear. Broad similarities between historical precedents and modern regulations are insufficient at Bruen Step 2, and the Supreme Court helpfully drove this point home in United States v. Hemani, 146 S. Ct. 1677 (2026).
