After months taunting me I finally got my Atari PC3 fixed. It had some faulty RAM but after diagnosing and rellacing went into a non booting state. Replacing a few caps seemed to get it going again and I then finally managed to get the floppy disk to boor DOS. The Hard drive however wont spin up.

Before Portal, there was, well, Portal. Activision's 1986 'computer novel' is one of the examples of the kind of entertainment software being developed for the Commodore Amiga in its first year. High concept, artsy, and tapping into the creativity-focused marketing for the computer.

It took me a while to find one but I did and now my Amiga 3000 is complete! No gaping hole and instead, a proper 3.5" floppy drive.

Making some slight improvements to the Commodore 1084 (Magnavox) monitor feet. Had missing/damaged feet, so using OpenSCAD to create replacements. This improvement adds insert for the seating of 12mm rubber pads... instead of pad slipping. I do have to add supports but they remove easily.

I have laser engraved a black keycap a bit deeper, painted the legends with model paint, let it dry for a week and brushed the excess off with the Dremel and a 300 grid tool. The final touch was wiping the surface with isopropanol and a nano sponge.

The Commodore PET was the first complete 6502 personal computer - keyboard, screen, cassette drive, all in one case. It shipped in October 1977, beating the Apple II to market by a few months in some regions. Chuck Peddle designed both the 6502 and the machine it went into.

Today was a day of working on little things. A new power switch for the Magnavox CRT and aligning the picture. Soldering a bunch of resistors and other components on the RAM testers .. and then some time to prep and bake an apple pie (it's apple season!!) 🍎🥧

After I bought my Commodore Amiga 500, I first modded it to accept Kickstart 1.3 .. then I had to mod it to be able to have 1MB chip RAM with the new Fatter Agnus. Then last, I added the SubSystem 500 (a barter) with a SCSI controller and 30 MB 👀 hard drive AND a 2MB Supra SupraRAM board. 💨

So many components go to landfills. I try to e-cycle where I can. Often finding what I need on discarded PCB boards. I reuse these. Less often for important things like computers and monitors but for many other less-critical projects. Do you try to reuse components?

Circling back to this, it appears that for now at least, disconnecting the LG TV from all networks is enough. It does scan other wifi networks but based on what I've been able to find so far, it isn't connecting to them. That said, I'll never be buying another LG product again.
