iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I got a new journal that has 365 pages so I can journal one page a day. One page is perfect to get back into regular journaling because anymore than that and I’ll feel pressured to write more and eventually stop entirely. 😅 I’ve got 7 full pages written already! Very proud of myself for that 🥰

Sun flurry is pretty cute hehehe

It’s snowing while the sun is out! What would you even call that? When it rains with the sun out, we call it a sun shower, but what about snow? lol

A self portrait on film from my project, “Thank You For Loving Me.” What I like about this shot is that you can’t quite tell if I’m pulling myself forward or holding on as if I’m being dragged back. 🎞️ Kodak Portra 400 📸 Pentax K1000 #photography #believeinfilm #fineartphotography #selfportrait

A pair of hands grip the green grass, clover, and garlic mustard vines as if trying to hold on tightly. The direction that the body is moving in just out of view of the camera and is obscured.

Morning. Moomintroll wakes up in Moominland Midwinter, Tove Jansson.

As described, illustration, Moomintroll is up at the break of day looking perturbed. Furniture in the room has taken on animated shape.

Still riding that high of talking to my friend who called me unexpectedly to chat & catch up the other day. I miss her since we live so far away from each other now. SUCH a huge mood booster when I didn’t even realize I was feeling down. 🥰

Grey eyes over here with ya 😞🤝 I wear contact lenses pretty much full time so I can wear my protective sunglasses for my weak, baby eyes 😂

J.R.R. Tolkien went so hard on his weird hobby that it became a defining moment in the literary history of the 20th century. May he be an inspiration to us all. Happy Birthday, JRRT!

Happy New Year 🎊 A throwback to a shot from a New Year’s Eve when we still lived in South Carolina several years ago. 🎞️ Kodak Portra 400 📸 Canon AE-1 #believeinfilm #photography #35mm

Here’s a couple of favorites that I shot in 2024 for my ongoing photo series called, “Thank You For Loving Me” - a personal project that explores living with anxiety, PTSD, and the desire to keep living. All images shot on 35mm film with my Pentax K1000. #believeinfilm #photography #35mmfilm

A self portrait. Two hands form the shape shape of a butterfly, reaching up towards the sun through a pink, blooming rhododendron bush. Inspired by the One Piece character, Nico Robin.

A landscape view of mountains and the Hudson Valley. A giant rain cloud can be seen over the valley, pouring rain in the distance. However, the rain clouds break up over the mountain, revealing the sunlight.

Titled, Monster. A self portrait using my shadow. My shadow casts on the bottom part of a mossy tree trunk. My hands are raised over my head and my fingers are sprawled out. My shadow is distorted to show ambiguity - is it a bug with pincers? A deer with antlers? A woman dancing ballet? Inspired by the One Piece character Chopper.

A view down a dirt path in a forest surrounded by a tunnel of trees. The beginning of the path is shrouded in shadow. However, as the path continues on, the sunlight breaks through the trees in a golden glow, illuminating the way in the golden hour light.

New song available on Patreon at the $5 tier. It's called I Want To Live. Named for the greatest line ever written in human literature. www.patreon.com/posts/i-want...

Your forever sleep
Is interrupted by a lengthy dream that is still too brief.
The dream is mostly pain.
It is the self investigating whether it's truly sane.

I've thought about the oceanic redeemed,
But the water's darker than it first seemed.
Everything that is lies in the heart of magnificent, terrible dreams.

I want to live.
I want to build. I want to give.
I want to form the little seams that make up
Other people's dreams and you must
Let passion quell
The constant beckoning from Hell.
Let dreams of others cure your sight.
I want to stay. I want to fight.
I want to live.

No decisions made.
If there is fate then it is lenient with how it's really played.
Time has gentle touch.
You can remember what it felt like when it all seems too much

There is nothing that will tether you here.
The purpose of the dream is not very clear.
And when I learned of this purposelessness I felt sure there was nothing to fear.

I scrolled by and was like “oooh that looks like Nico Robin!!!” A pleasant surprise for me. lol Totally agree. “I want to live” is the greatest line ever written, closely followed by “thank you for loving me.”

A foggy view of the field nearby. It’s been perfect weather to curl up with a soft blanket and a good book. #photography #fineartphotography

A foggy view of a snowy field. A large bare tree is just down the hill of the field with small evergreen trees lined along in a row. The shadowy figures of tall bare trees can be seen faintly through the fog along the tree line of the field in the distance.

I always feel a bit melancholy around the new year. It’s likely that “post-holiday blues” but I feel a profound sadness plus a deep desire to create something or start something new while feeling like I don’t have enough time. 😅

I thought I’d share from my vintage photograph collection today. I digitized my whole collection last year as a New Years Resolution project. 😊 This photo has a little bit of foxing, but overall, she’s in great condition. SO many ruffles lol #photography #vintage #vintagephotography #analog
