Book #29 (Audiobook): I don't know how to feel. I loved this book all the way through, but then it just kind of... ended? I ADORED the book Station Eleven by the same author, this one I think just went a bit over my head. I didn't "get" it. Like I said though, I enjoyed it #BookSky

Book #28 (Audiobook): Well I couldn't not, after so enjoying the first. This is a fantastic follow up. So so funny, yet so so gripping. The twist in the post script was *chef's kiss*. Loving the free Audiobooks from my local library via BorrowBox! #BookSky

Book #27 (eBook): oh my word. What a terrible terrible bore fest! I can't get over the contrast of how bad this was compared with how good Journey to the Centre of the Earth was. I had Moby Dick lined up next but I'm not risking another sea bound bore fest. Uggh. #BookSky

Interesting you post the second, much more recent definition. I.e the recent bastardisation of the term which is the very thing I'm complaining about. It's advertising designed to make people unhappy with their lot in life, make them get into debt to achieve the "ideal" of holidays abroad.
Screenshot of the first and therefore preeminent definition of "staycation" in the Oxford English Dictionary. "A holiday spent in, or in the neighborhood of, one's own home." Quoted as being used from 1944 onwards.
