I've just started wearing my smart watch again after many months of not and I've remembered that I hate how it says I've had excellent sleep when I really haven't. This morning even the watch is saying I had a bad night. Just under 8 hours in bed, just over 5 actually asleep 🫩🫩🫩

So I got told off by a year 8 in #MathsToday. I was saluting General Form, as you must always do whenever he's mentioned, without explaining myself, as ever, and when I was later circulating she told me I was doing the US salute rather than the British one!? Just looked it up and she's right 😂

Discovered I was a fair bit ahead of the other yr12 mechanics teacher so #MathsToday I used the "Floppy Hair" problem from Underground Maths to do some deeper differentiation practice. Really good level of challenge for the class :D

Went to Prezzo tonight with family and parents (their treat, obvs 😍) and had something new - the beef and mash, rich gravy with tenderstem broccoli. Oh my. They weren't kidding calling the gravy rich. The beef was so tender too. Just... phwoar.

A few lessons into teaching a foundation yr11 set (new to me) in #MathsToday after finding them scarily weak on equation solving 3 lessons ago, had them solving inequalities with the variable on both sides. Satisfying progress :)

First lesson with my second yr12 A level group #MathsToday. Differentiation from first principles! I'd never taught it before this week, don't even remember it from being a student haha, but it's good fun isn't it? Some good old solid bashing through some algebra

#MathsToday had me doing compound growth and decay problems with top 11s. I struggled to know how to break it down to mwb-able tasks so it wasn't a great lesson for me. All the questions are just so wordy. Many were weak on rearranging which got them stuck, others just flew through

New job, I'm commuting by car properly for the first time. Bought an electric for it, but wife has done her knee in so I'm using the manual petrol. Just put £40 in and realised that'll do me about 6 days of commuting. WHAT!? Insane amounts of money :(

#MathsToday I had a beautiful one off day. Year 12s don't start till next week, I'd normally have yr12 lessons 1-4, finishing off with yr8 lesson 5. So the noise cancelling headphones went on and I got my head round loads of #COREMaths admin. Satisfying. Ending with % decimal multipliers with year 8
