A beautiful, sunny day with a scattering of light clouds over the water, where the low tide has revealed expansive rock formations along the shoreline.

This poison doesn't just kill bugs. It poisons 385 MILLION people every year and kills 11,000 farmers annually. In West Africa alone, 48.9% of farmers suffer acute poisoning every year. Who is holding these companies accountable?

The greatest challenge for many farmers isn’t growing food — it’s managing it after harvest. Post-harvest losses claim 13% of food before it even reaches retail (FAO). In Sub-Saharan Africa, that figure hits 23%. We already produce enough to feed the world. The real crisis is what we lose.

75% of our leading food crops depend on pollinators. No bees = no tomatoes, no beans, no peppers, no mangoes, no coffee. You think food comes from the supermarket. It comes from a bee that just died from insecticide drift.

I’ve walked the fields at dawn for years. The air used to hum with bees. Now it’s quieter every season. What most people never see is the scale: over 3.7 million tonnes of pesticide active ingredients poured onto the planet every year — more than double what we used in 1990.

3.7–3.9 million tonnes of pesticide active ingredients are used worldwide every year — more than double the amount in 1990. Most of us never see the fields. But this invisible flood is saturating soil, water, pollen, and nectar. Our food system is being quietly poisoned at industrial scale.

Bees pollinate roughly 1 in 3 bites of food we eat. When they decline, entire ecosystems unravel — rivers lose life, flowers stop reproducing, and springs go quiet. This is not an isolated crisis. It is a systemic one. We traded resilience for short-term wealth. The bill is now due.

Capturing the red afterglow in the eastern sky after the sun has set in the west. The narrow band of pinkish red is often referred to as the 'Belt of Venus', caused by sunlight being backscattered off dust, particles, and air molecules high up in the atmosphere. The darker area directly beneath the 'belt' is actually the Earth's shadow as it rises into the atmosphere.

A small population & infrastructure to change/upgrade & high wage levels. A huge Fossil fuel industry dwarfing this reduction, a national wealth fund (2nd or 3rd in the world I think) investing in fossil fuels. Until the impact is carbon Neutral or Negative, the EV thing is peanuts.
