Speaking as an anthropologist, I would strongly, STRONGLY advise you to start preserving physical media of things that are important to you, especially racially or queer focused media. That means physical books, physical DVDs, and digital files stored locally.

Reminder to my artist friends that this awesome site exists. It lets you pick a species of animal, set the orientation of the skull, and then search for pictures of that animal that match the skull position. Also, consider tipping the creator if you found it useful! x6ud.github.io#/

How to filter out AI Images in Google Image Search. Sharing this with my students so I figured I'd also share it with everyone here. Hopefully this image is still relevant given Google's changes. Save this on your computer or phone and refer to it as needed.

HOW TO FILTER OUT AI IMAGES IN GOOGLE IMAGES

When you type something add the following minus keywords: -ai, -prompt

Since AI movement increased highly in 2022, use "before:" like before:2021 (VERY effective)

The following keywords will affect and should decrease amounts of AI imagery appearing on your search.

Create, not scrape!

Don't do this. You can get rid of Copilot *without* editing your registry. You need a program called Geek Uninstaller. It's reputable. Check around. Copilot relies on Edge. Without Edge, there is no Copilot. Use Geek Uninstaller, choose Edge, right click, "Force Removal." Easy to do or reverse.
