It’s almost cool enough inside my house today for a long sleeved shirt and I don’t even have the air conditioning or fans on. This may be the happiest I’ve been all year. #happyautumn

Much as we love bookshops, they need more than love to keep going. A bookshop can be the centre of a whole community. Bookshops support authors; organize events. A thriving bookshop teaches the next generation that literacy matters. So don't just love your bookshop: actually buy books there.

Autumnal colors are kinda my thing! 🧡💛❤️ For #showmeyourknits this week, here are three of my most favorite shawls/scarves. Clockwise, (yellow actually light orange) the Spiced Ginger Shawl by Maria Greene, Twisted Edge scarf ( cannot find pattern), & Marlia shawl. 🧶 #knitsky #knitting
Three shawls/scarves lie on a wooden table top in a sort of intentional pile. At the top is a light orange, bobble-edged and lace shawl (Farners Daughter Fibers in Pishkun DK, Hacer colorway). On the right is a dusky red scarf in garter stitch with a cabled edge (Knitty Gritty sock yarn). The bottom scarf is a lace edged garter knit in variegated burnt orange to aqua blue-green (Poema cashmere yarn)

This lovely sweater is taking forever because I just cannot be a monogamous knitter. 😁 But the body is done! Now onto the sleeves. Going for long, I think. Pattern: Dido Tee by Sari Nordlund Yarn: Navia Silkiull 🧶 #showmeyourknits #knitsky #knitting
A hand knit sweater work in progress laid out flat on a wooden table. The sweater still needs the sleeves knitted. It features a cable and lace pattern on a central panel that runs the length of the body. Knit in gray-blue yarn. A gray notions pouch sits on the sweater to one side.

Some of the things I love the most in my collection of tools and bits and bobs for this week’s #showmeyourknits ! Locally made project bags & notions pouch, a cheeky tin stores my stitch markers & tapestry needles, & I always have a cute measuring tape & stoppers on hand. #knitsky #knitting
Image shows parts of two multicolored project bags (other sections of bags are out of frame), a small canvass notions pouch featuring a printed image of cacti, a black tin, a panda face tape measure, a small wooden apple box which contains stitch markers, a pair of highland cow stitch stoppers, and a length of rubber cord used for extending the capacity of circular needles so garments can be tried on.

On the tin is printed, “I don’t want to look skinny. I want to look like I could kick your ass.”
