If you haven't read Badenoch's latest pamphlet, I don't blame you, but in it she launches an attack on the minimum wage. When so many people across Britain are struggling with the cost of living, it’s so tin eared. Same old Tories. They always want working people worse off.

Unlike Simon Clarke, I was alive during the 1970s. A combination of low inequality, low crime and aspects of culture made 1976 one of the happiest years on record in the UK. The IMF bailout had zero impact. Lesson for Simon, happiness is not just a function of wealth.

Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.
