Oh not this again. Winning General elections is often influenced by tactics. In 2024 Labour targeted resources to take marginal seats hence a large majority. In 2019 Labour piled resources into seats already won piling up large majorities in seats already won whilst not increasing the seats won

Unlike Simon Clarke, I was alive during the 1970s. A combination of low inequality, low crime and aspects of culture made 1976 one of the happiest years on record in the UK. The IMF bailout had zero impact. Lesson for Simon, happiness is not just a function of wealth.
