Fishersnakes are active hunters, and the only creature agile enough to take down Porcupuffers without getting stabbed. They use the tentacles on the ends of their snout to detect faint movements in water, and can unhinge their jaws to swallow large prey whole. 🦦 #Art #creatureDesign

Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

Some thoughts:
When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge.
You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be.
Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history.
You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired.
Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.

I'm usually quiet here, but I just wanted to say that I had the honour of working on Jurassic World Evolution 3! It was an insane experience and I worked with a team full of incredible people. I concepted the adults and juveniles of these three which is still madness. I hope everyone enjoys! 🦖✨

I'd like you all to meet Hazir, the Mercurial Dread. The first ancient white dragon in my world building project/DND campaign 'Hearth' And happy new year everyone!

I really want to get good at painting landscapes but I always struggle with how much detail I should give. They can REALLY help make a creature believable and you can give so much context with an environment. Massive props to the people (such as yourself) who paint beautiful places and beasties
