The Tufted ground squirrel (Rheithrosciurus macrotis) is a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in floof. Let's start with the *FLOOF* & talk about why they're called "VAMPIRE SQUIRRELS" last. They have the largest tail: body size ratio of any mammal on Earth: the tail is *130%* the size the body.

Taken from "Critter Science" blog: A squirrel with dark coloration, just an amazingly large tail, and long tufted ears that point slightly backwards. Along the long-thin body are orange, white and black striping. The tail looks almost exactly like one of those dust-trapping dusters.

Sex workers and farm workers alike often get trafficked when they know what kind of work they're gonna be doing but get lied to about how bad the conditions are. And those workers being abused in Dubai and Saudi Arabia are also being trafficked, even when they initially go in voluntarily

Human trafficking isn't just sex slavery. It's also unpaid (or underpaid) labor, and engineered debt slavery with unfair repayment terms for job contracts or smuggling services. A lot of farms are engaging in human trafficking, with ICE being historically a tool/threat (before they went unleashed)

Trafficking is a real thing in general, but part of the reason victims avoid cops is bc cops tend to make things worse. Just one example is that ICE is in effect the world's largest human trafficking organization right now

I think I've seen interviews from sex workers' rights orgs saying that anti-trafficking has basically been co-opted by cops and anti-sex work orgs as a weapon against the workers themselves. Using anti-sex trafficking statutes to put womens' bodies in prison, to get more funding for cops
