Someone in my house changed my kitchen laser thermometer from F to C. It took me getting pissed off that my oil wasn't coming up to temp and seemed stalled at 185 even though it had been on for 5 minutes. So I kicked up the heat and started smelling burned canola oil, but the thermometer said 205..
