A symbology ring! I love taking photos of this line, I've gotta make more art like this. I feel like this is a good time to go back to geometric work, and I miss it anyway.

A very geometric silver ring made out of straight silver wire with little circles at the ends and juncture of a t shape, with a piece of curved textured wire that has been darkened, sitting on top of a bed of creeping thyme. The light is also very cold.

Soup of the Day 7/100! Today's soup is Kaleh Pacheh, an Iranian breakfast soup! The dish features a whole sheep's head, but I did a single serving. This soup was super fun to research, all of the recipes I looked at focused on how to ethically source and prepare meats. #sculpture #art #miniatures

A small (2 cm) bowl of polymer clay Kaleh Pacheh, an Iranian soup containing various meats, including a meticulously sculpted tiny brain no one is going to notice, and a wedge of lime I'm not sure is traditional, but was great for colour.

Back at my bench babyyyyyy, god it feels SO good. Commissions and craft fair prep goooooo!

A photo of a messy jewelers desk. There is a jewellers saw frame hanging off the wooden bench pin secured with a steel block, a big set of parts drawers hand labelled in the background with a rotating parts holder, and a variety of clutter in the cubby under the table underneath (scissors, metal, wood, some more specialized stuff like a ring holder). There's nothing in particular being made, just a bench photo at this point, but the saw frame does have a piece of copper partially cut and hanging off, like it just occurred to me I could use this moment for content. (I did)

Soup of the Day 6/100: Yokohama style ramen! I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed the broth got lost in the bowl of this one, because this style of ramen is all about the broth! It's a combo of shoyu and tonkatsu broths, and characterized by thicker noodles! #soup #miniature #polymerclay

A small (2 cmish?) black polymer clay bowl sits on a white glass grid board, inside the bowl is polymer clay ramen, with an orange broth, bits of seaweed and meat, with some little pepper bits

So I've been making a lot of other culture's food (and I will have a new soup today!) but I was laying in bed like how could I make something that reflects my culture and so long story short I'm sculpting boiled dinner with salt beef. Lot of neutral colours, that.

I think if I ever had to write an artist's statement about my polymer clay I would try to work in that I was a pioneer in finding new ways to apply glitter to stuff. Nobody's asked for one, but if they do I'm ready.

Here's soup 5/100! This one is tonkotsu ramen! This style has got a light coloured broth because the length of time the bones are boiled to make the broth breaks down the collagen in the bones, and it makes the flavour very creamy and fatty (and delicious!)

A teeny tiny polymer clay bowl filled with polymer clay ramen, this one has a boiled egg on top and a fatty meat, along with some seaweed and scallions and what looked to me like pickled radishes but please correct me if I'm wrong, I just love pickled radishes

A vast understatement, but Christ I'm tired of the US government taking up so much time and real estate in my brain. I don't live there, I have no interest in living there, why do I have to navigate issues related to their government 10 times as much as Canadian ones. I'm so very very tired.

No soup today because I can't bring myself to post on Instagram and I do them at the same time, but here's some other stuff I made for some upcoming shows and also a bowl of curry for my dolls because I had some liquid clay and I wanted to treat myself. #art #craft #polymerclay #minifood

A bunch of unvarnished polymer clay miniatures, including a cauldron with green bubbly goo, two bowls of soup (one beef stew and one chicken vegetable!) Three hair pin bases that are black clay rectangles each with with three cookies on them (an iced pink sugar cookie with sprinkles, a chocolate chip cookie and a jam cookie), a hair clip base with tiny sour candies all over it, a very small loaf of bread and a little bowl of japanese curry

Soup of the day 4/100! Hope everyone likes ramen because there is a whole lot of it coming up in the list! This one is chicken with a boiled egg, tofu and seaweed! Did you know ramen noodles are made with sodium carbonate mineral water called kansui? I just learned that! #polymerclay #artsky #soup

Despite the horrors, soup of the day 3/100! Today it is Paraguayan vori vori, a corn dumpling soup with chicken and root vegetables. I learned from this one, vori means ball, for the little dumplings! It sounds very cozy to me. #polymerclay #soup #art

A polymer clay bowl full of polymer clay soup with an orangey broth, with carrots, root vegetables, chicken and little cornmeal dumplings all made out of clay. It is sitting on a gridded tabletop that I really need to wash.

Soup of the day 2/100: Caldo de Queso! This soup is from the Sonora province of Mexico, and is traditionally made with a special queso ranchero from the area added at the end of the soup, but it can be made with queso fresco or queso cotija! I'm enjoying learning about soup a LOT, actually.

this iconic advertising copywriter named Kathy Hepinstall Parks died over the weekend and I wanted to share something from her website I thought Bluesky would like

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.
