I hope a big part of this story is how Trans rights won. Markey wrote the transgender bill of rights. Unabashedly campaigned on that (among other things). Moulton questioned whether trans kids should play sports. Then doubled down. Dems should take big note here.

Wow. The ICE shooter in Maine asked his ex-wife to "to lie for him and to cover for his character." She said he was abusive and had previously reported concerns about him to his military superiors. He was also a volunteer firefighter, but was removed after several spats with department leadership.

NY took the elitist claims pretty seriously, gave good exceptions and reduced rates for folks who needed it is it is still paying off like crazy both in financial benefit and environmental benefit for the city. That recent reporting on the Cornell study is pretty amazing.

I cannot tell whether it is a failure to communicate these benefits well, or a kind of old school resistance to any change that seems to pervade Boston, or car culture (as in my original comment), or suspicion of governance (that it really can be wielded to improve peoples lives), etc etc.
