iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Part of me is tentative about posting it when it's done because atp it feels too personal, since I've kept it to myself for ages and I'm trying to talk myself out of being scared 😭 but the worst that will happen is someone will hate it and that's completely fine LMAO

Idk I've put off writing this singular fic for so long bc I didn't feel like I was skilled enough to make it not seem ooc (and other reasons, I changed the setting and context several times and kind of got frustrated lol) but I still want it to see the light of day.

And I don't think that contradicts his penchant for suppressing his grief or needs either, because in this instance he's breaking down about *similar but different* problems that he knows the person he's with understands.

Like no generally I don't! There's no reason I would but sometimes I think the man deserves a pathetic breakdown if he genuinely cannot deal with more and he knows he's with someone who won't judge him for it

I like to explore scenarios abt characters crying or breaking down, and what gets them to do so if they aren't usually in the habit of it. but then I'm like...is everyone gonna think I actually believe my fav is an unhinged crybaby. lmao

oh my god I found it

$Emet-Selch: you're all primitive animals. just last week I watched a man fail to return his shopping cart to the corral. now, there is no punishment for not returning a shopping cart. it is done simply because it is the right thing to do. but that is too much to ask of a fracture. is that what we have been reduced to? squandered, sundered husks that cannot perform a simple duty to their society without threat of retribution? I wretch at what has become of all I have lost. Alphinaud: And yet there are those before you who would return a shopping cart not their own!$

Cala dumps a bunch of photos of plants, her chocobo, or Ziggy on Instagram once a month and then disappears (she had a redditor era but she's over that now skdjk) Bayar is mostly on tiktok but he's not posting or doing trends, he's just sending his friends meme videos all day

See a couple, post a couple

Hien, shirtless with his hair down, kisses Fafnir. They are both wearing casual beach wear.

Hien and Fafnir sit next to each other in the Gold Saucer. Fafnir has an arm over Hien's shoulders. Hien's eyes are closed as he smiles.

Fafnir holds Hien up in their arms. Hien is laughing happily while Fafnir looks at him with a soft, happy expression.

An Impossible Dream, Wol/Hien, WIP 3/6 Hien meets his in-laws. Interlude: Tea is up!

"Fullglad am I to taste real Doman tea again. Limsa Lominsa had imports, but 'tis not the same," Ayako commented. She had a delicate grip on her cup. "We never could have imagined that our little boy would grow up to be one of the heroes who liberated our home." Her tone was warm, but Hien didn't like the way she looked at Fafnir. As if they were a stranger, not her flesh and blood.

"I am glad to make you proud," Fafnir said flatly, and Hien thanked his political experience to stay his expression. Fafnir was a poor liar. They continued with no change to their cadence. "My father always told me stories of Doma. Of her beautiful shores and rolling hills, and the strength of its people." Their words were tinged with bitterness.

Hien knew that things were complicated with Fafnir's parents. He had the suspicion that he was only aware of half of it.

It's rare for Aymeric to be the one handing out bedtime reminders, so you have to forgive him for enjoying it. #felspose

Lysander stands in front of a bookshelf, holding a book and looking for another, with a surprised expression on his face as Aymeric hugs him from behind.

I didn't really watch scary movies as a kid so I truly don't remember the name of any particular film or show, but I had nightmares about how I needed to escape being tied up and stabbed from this one kids' encyclopedia 😂

Lee 🌿 @desertghosts.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

My family had this illustrated encyclopedia of history and there was a drawing of some guy getting tied up before being stabbed. The image itself wasn't even that scary, it was all pre-stabbing, I just got really freaked out by the idea of gore or violence at the time 😭

Either way I think younger Bayar would care more about knowing how/why he leaves the steppe to meet other people more so than who his partner is, he'd just be like "oh he's nice, I guess, now tell me about how I leave home and have adventures though"

010

Which means Bayar would feel like it had been awhile, and it was mostly just a fling, so idk if he'd hold onto that. But when he gets back it will probably have only been a few months for Arenvald... I will have to get to shb patches to see if I think they'd pick back up.

110

I was gonna list Bayar's answer for that qotd since he *was* with Arenvald in the StB patches, but I don't know if that's still a thing because I think I want him to get yoinked to the first around the same time Alisaie does.
