Andrew mentioned in a recent talk that he was considering using AI for finding bugs after he exhausted other methods. I think they mostly don't want slop prs from people who can't verify that their approach and aren't learning anything in the process. It wastes a lot of time.

I need people to stop using AI to make slides. - We can all Tell - It does not look Good - it does not give the impression you are Trying - and ffs if there is one things LLMs are NOT good at today: it's being concise, and communicating in minimal text. Aka the main feature of a good slide deck.

Honest question, what in particular gets in the way of that UX? Since it's all HTML/CSS rendered at the end of day. I think animations, transitions, encryption, and more coherent state management, and some off the shelf libraries is part of it, but most apps skip all but the last.

Lol, that was me back in the day with Elm. I just couldn't understand why they would pick something so sub optimal. That said I came to appreciate the ability to just pull in so many useful libraries and honestly there's a lot of state libraries that make react MUCH better. Like zustand and mobx

Overall it feels good when I'm in dev, but trying lock it down for security is a nightmare in my experience. It's so easy to create a DDOS, permission bypass, etc. as a bad actor. While the intended client is completely static in prod generally.

Overall it's great in situations where you can quickly validate the results (did it find the file, did it notice a security bug) but horrible when it gets ahead of you (I'm not sure if this is safe I don't know this code)

I'd be very interested. Even if you only wanted to bounce ideas back and forth. Overall I think ai is great when it's a repetitive pattern or straightforward. But also can quickly become a crutch for junior AND senior alike. It can often shield you from code quality/test quality diminishing

Yeah 200% I think organizations seem to rot over time. They build trust, win, then realize the easiest way to keep winning is to stretch that trust till all users realize that old reliable is just a shell of its former glory. Sadly people seem to be pretty stubbornly trusting.

The pain is real, Pixel art is especially expensive at variations and different outfits, unless your characters didn't move that much. 3D has a leg up there. That said, I do love beautiful pixel art so much ❤️ 🤩 👾

It's good to hear how long it took for you. I'm starting to realize how large of a gap there is between "First low-poly character" and something like your game.Knowing it takes time helps me understand why it feels so hard right for me to come close. Pixel art/low-poly *seems* easy, but isn't
