The thing is, not in a million years would I have picked up a book called Mega Robo Bros. And then I started and the emotional stakes are so real by page 10, I loved them all instantly. Even Freddy who is the distilled essence of every little brother who ever lived

It just does everything, and everything right

Like, the world is saved by a poopy butts chant

The friendships are fierce and so true (TAIO FOREVER)

I LOVED THAT ALEX GOT THEIR PRINCE

And that uncertainty is their superpower OMG OMG OMG

And impossible decisions aren't impossible, you just have to break the paradigm. Basically "I don't recognise the question" DESTROY THE FRAMING

Also Freddy. As he died saying "you always saved me" I was still weeping from Alex's transformation and then Neill gut punches me with those 4 panels

For this and many other reasons, I cannot help but stan. To wit, her statue on my chest of drawers (which I'll now move to m'desk). Seeing her statue at the Parthenon in Nashville was A Moment for me (her spear broke when I moved her from New Orleans, sad times)

Made the "mistake" of picking up the first of @ravenswordpress.com's Inheritance series yesterday and well, it looks like I'm in it for the long haul 😂 starting book 2 (Knight of Flames) tonight if I can stay awake long enough to pick up my Kindle (my health, she is not great atm)

There are few things in life more comforting and dear to me than @ldlapinski.bsky.social's writing. This trilogy has built the most perfect blanket fort (with ALL the thrills and feels) around me. I'd been putting off reading it bc I so didn't want it to end, and now I'm in, I never want to leave 💖

I'm holding a copy of Artezans: The Last Spellbreaker by LD Lapinski. Elodie and Edward (black-haired twins) stand ready to fight a bunch of shadows. Mr Biscuits is a ginger cat, hissing and hair on end, also ready to fight. Behind them, Aurora Borealis. Rainbow power gathers around their hands. Absolutely epic.

Big love esp to those who grew up in the 80s like me and pushed so much down until realising in our 30s-40s the beauty and joy of being fully ourselves, of owning our love big and bold and true 💖💜💙
