Painting created 1974, in the art therapy studio at Netherne hospital, Surrey, by an individual who was compelled to live there, currently identified to us only as Francesca.
A painting of exuberant primary coloured spirals strokes & lines emanating from the bottom left corner of white paper as if exploding out of the word whoopee written in dark blue capital letters, with streamer like marks growing larger as they reach top right

“We are living in a world in which nobody is free, in which hardly anybody is secure, in which it is almost impossible to be honest and to remain alive.” The Road to Wigan Pier - G.Orwell #ClassicMono
A view from a bridge over a canal.
Wigan Pier buildings on the side of the canal reflected somewhat in the water. Other industrial buildings across from the pier behind a high wall by a small area of landscaping.

One of the (many) reasons LLMs are terrible for history is their sycophancy; it's foundational to good history that we learn not to seek evidence that confirms our prejudices, yet LLMs have a strong tendency to do exactly this - to find a way, if they can, to say 'yes' to any query

In contrast to the coverup of the EPSTEIN crimes here in America, there are ongoing investigations in the UK, France, Turkey, Poland, Latvia & Lithuania that is sure to expose his central, filthy role in the largest crimes against humanity case in world history. #AccountabilityIsComing

They say the reason people cant go onto the quay this week is a swarm of bees. We all know that's bollocks. The real reason is the fisher folk don't want anyone to know they are taking out to sea to pay their tidal tithe with. – Julie Bindon #VOH
A board on a quayside onto which a piece of paper has been attached which reads: NO PEDESTRIAN ACCESS DUE TO A LARGE SWARM OF BEES!!

Lynda Sayce plays a piece of lute music that was recently discovered in an archival document at the Museum Plantin-Moretus. Since the handwritten lute tablature was folded and reused as scrap paper, it's problaby the first time in 400 years that this music is heard.

Artists as the world economy crumbles around us
The Danny Devito Egg In This Trying Time meme, with the egg replaced with one of my prints. Please keep buying prints from artists. They're probably less expensive than US eggs at this point.

Spotted walking the dog. Wish I’d had a long lens with me.
A facade of a beautifully renovated traditional Maltese house with a contemporary approach. A dark green car is parked in front of the house, and the green of the car compliments the matte sage green of the front door and garage door.

"I want to keep boycotting Amazon, but I also want to support indie authors. How do I do that?" Many indie authors have their books on Barnes & Noble & Kobo! There are also places like Smashwords & Campfire that are almost all indie books! Itchio now has a THRIVING LGBTQ Indie Book Scene.

Costa Rica has massively rewilded over recent decades. Has this led to the collapse of farming, rural society, or national wellbeing? Totally the opposite, and we in Ireland have SO much to learn from their example. My piece for the @irishexaminer.bsky.social www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/ou...

After spending months writing my business grant application to buy a riso printer and open a shop….i just realized that there’s a teeny tiny clause that I might not be able to because the grant is only 10k, and a whole ass riso business is a lot more than that… #risoprint #risograph
Text of a clause from a grant application basically saying you can’t apply for cofunding from anywhere else if you apply for this grant.

Had made this 2 colour shrimp linoprint to go with the crab and lobster print I posted previously. All my immediate family members are born in July, so I made a set of crustacean prints for them. #printmaking #printsky #linoprinting
A farmed, 2 colour linoprint in red on fluoroescent pink of 2 shrimp circling each other.

I need to do more simple prints like this, with a really popping background colour, and a dark print for contrast. This was carved into some really crumbly rubber. #printmaking #printsky #linoprinting

This is an A3 linoprint I had made of my family cat Kishka, who sadly passed away of cat flu a few years ago. She was the funniest, feral thing on four legs (and I was her favourite, but you didn't hear it from me.) #printmaking #printsky #linoprinting
Blue A3 linoprint of a cat surrounded by a circle of flowers and leaves, with one eye squinting.

This is the first screenprint I’ve ever made! I miss screenprinting sooooo much, but I just haven’t had the time to get my studio set up started #printmaking #printsky #screenprint
A neon orangeey pink screenprint of a lucky cat giving a “rock on” hand gesture with the text GOOD LUCK BAD LUCK framing it. It’s holding a yen coin that says “Better luck next time.”

I know I have many dreams and these often change with the winds, but I would love to start a printing kulturhus in Malta. All kinds of printing, with a little attached cafe of course, because what historically goes better together than the spread of information and coffee house culture??

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜 The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization. Enter Dorothy B. Porter 🧵
