Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and Canada has a lot of work to do. In some ways, we’re actually backsliding right now -- from residential school denial to rights-busting "national building projects." We gotta do a better job of defending and respecting Indigenous rights:

A reporter asked the government about the Trumpian tactic of flooding the zone with this bill (it’s an omnibus!) and the ministers appear outraged. They balk at a question that…accurately characterizes what they’re doing. If you don’t like it, don’t do it!

Waitlists for MRIs are too long across Ontario, with only 30% occurring in their target time. The answer is simple: fund our public hospitals to run their EXISTING MRI machines on evenings and weekends. Get rid of the waitlists. Get Ontarians the care they need.

Hamilton City Council promised last week that HSR (which Council said was operating at "99 per cent") would be at 100 per cent service today - including school trips. Right now, there are bus cancellations in every area of Hamilton. No HSR managers on duty to provide detailed info. #hamont #yhmcc

For whatever reason the City of Burlington decided to block off the pedestrian crossing at the John Street Terminal, forcing people to cross at the North end of the terminal, near the HSR 11 stop. Would love to know the logic behind this decision. #burlon #publictransit #planningfail

People often want simple answers to the question of why transit is worse in North America (US especially) than other places. A transit agency voluntarily slowing it’s trains down for dubious “safety” benefits, as the government bans speed cameras says a lot.
