When teachers deliver lessons without doing the thinking themselves, or understanding the thinking of the person who planned, or without adapting, learning and student thinking are the casualties. 182

Teachers learn as much about students from marking their work as the other way around. Understanding our students by reading their work is a big part of quality teaching. 010
